It is important for women, particularly, to have regular physical exams as part of maintaining their health. An annual wellness exam can last from 30 minutes to an hour, and will include a physical exam with a lipid panel screening for cholesterol, and a blood sugar test that can indicate pre-diabetes.

Pap Test

A pelvic exam is not painful and only takes about 5 minutes. The PAP Test is done during this time so that the clinician can collect cells from the cervix to detect cervical cancer and the Human Papillomavirus (HPV).


Regular skin exams are especially important for people who are at higher risk of skin cancer, such as people with reduced immunity, people who have had skin cancer before, and people with a strong family history of skin cancer.



A pelvic exam is a doctor's visual and physical examination of a woman's sexual and reproductive organs. This is done as part of an annual health screening and prevention tool, and is vital for the total health care of women.


This bone density test is performed with a special type of x-ray that measures bone mineral density. Approximately 37% to 50% of women age 50 and older have low bone mass, without being aware of the risks.

Based on a health assessment and your lifestyle preferences, a Ma’am Exams provider will recommend and prescribe either an IUD (or intrauterine device), birth control pills, a birth control patch, or other contraceptive method.


If a woman's menstrual period is excessively heavy, prolonged, or irregular, it is called menorrhagia. Periods are considered heavy if there is enough blood to soak a pad or tampon every hour for several consecutive hours.

The main signs and symptoms of Fibromyalgia included trigger point pain, tenderness, morning stiffness, aching joints, and headaches. Other signs may include chronic fatigue and restless sleep.
